Youth Programs at Our site
After-School Program (Ages 5–14):
The After-School Program provides a safe and engaging environment for school-aged children after the school day ends. The program supports academic growth through homework assistance, literacy activities, and educational enrichment while also offering opportunities for creativity, recreation, performing arts, and self-expression. Youth build confidence, social skills, and positive habits through mentorship, activities, and incentives.
Vacation Program (Ages 5–14):
The Vacation Program provides full-day programming during Springfield Public Schools’ vacation breaks. Youth participate in academic support, recreational activities, and enrichment opportunities designed to keep them active, engaged, and learning while school is not in session. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided for all participants.
Summer Program (Ages 5–12):
The Summer Program is an eight-week enrichment program that provides youth with opportunities to learn, explore, and grow during the summer months. Through weekly field trips, literacy activities, STEM, arts, fitness, nutrition, and community-focused learning, youth strengthen academic skills while building confidence, creativity, and social connections in a fun and supportive environment.
Community Choice Core (CYC Program) (Ages 14–18):
The Community Choice Core (CYC) Program supports teenagers ages 14–18 by fostering leadership, community engagement, and skills needed to successfully transition into adulthood. Through mentorship, personal development, and career readiness opportunities, youth build confidence, explore their interests, and develop valuable workplace skills. Participants who complete program orientation may have the opportunity to pursue employment opportunities at the South End Community Center. Youth and families can complete the interest form to share their goals, talents, and interests, and a CYC Coordinator will follow up with next steps.
